Need Help Installation of bootloader with command prompt! (Video ipod)

(1/2) > >>

zombieplasticclock:
Ok, I got everything (Ipod number is disk device 1, which is the result I got.)

The problem is backing up the apple firmware, and installing rockbox's bootloader. This is what I'm putting in Command Prompt (BTW: I have a Windows XP, and I have a video ipod)

Backing up firmware : C:\rockbox\ipodpatcher [disk device 1] -r bootpartition.bin.

 (no luck)

Installing rockbox: C:\rockbox\ipodpatcher [disk device 1] -bootloader-ipodvideo.ipod
(unplugged ipod, went straight to original firmware. nothing.)

Im confused. I followed the installation manual, and nothing. please help. it will be appreciated

Llorean:
It says to replace [device]... That means replace it entirely

ipodpatcher 1 -r bootpartition.bin

zombieplasticclock:
:o Oh... Thanks, I'll try it

zombieplasticclock:
alrite, now how do I install rockbox's bootloader? BTW thanks for the help ;D

Llorean:
Read the instructions more carefully, you got another part of the line wrong for that one, as well.
