Brasil, the options you've selected aren't very good.  I don't use Rockbox's crossfeed because (1) Rockbox isn't sufficiently optimized for the iPod and crossfeed's extra CPU cycles causes skipping, and (2) I sometimes use a headphone amp that has its own crossfeed circuit.  However, I don't feel that "crossfeed sucks," so there is no poll option appropriate for me.

Also, it's not clear whether you are talking about crossfeed generally, or about Rockbox's implementation of it.

I agree that the poll options are rather limited.

But I'm curious that it causes skipping for you, Febs.  I haven't had any problems with crossfeed causing skipping with the music that I play on either my 5G or my nano.

Personally, I use it in limited situations (headphones + music that has hard-panned instruments) but value it greatly in those situations.

Hi Febs.

I use Crossfeed with Hardware equalizer and never skips on my iPod video 5G 60gb. Even with 320kbps mp3.

But, forget about the skips and vote about the Rockbox Crossfeed effect on your phones.

The title refers to Rockbox Crossfeed.

Thanks.

To be honest, the last time I tried it was several months ago.  Maybe I should try it again.  Nevertheless , I can't vote on the poll because there is no option that applies to me.  I don't agree that "Rockbox sucks."

I think the poll would be better if it simply asked:

How often do you use Rockbox's crossfeed:

Always
Sometimes
Never

Yes Febs, I'm understanding you.

But the simple "Never" answer don't explain if people hates Crossfeed no matter why, or just don´t use cause CPU's skips or use an external Crossfeed, or etc...

I puted another option. Maybe it's yours, but try Rockbox Crossfeed again before vote. Maybe not skipping anymore on your DAP.

Thanks.

For me it doesn't depend on the song, but instead on a.) if I'm listening through car/home speakers instead of headphones and b.) whether what I'm listening to is stereo or mono.  I listen to the Beatles almost exclusively in mono (except for "Abbey Road" and "Let it Be"), "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys, the mono mix of "The Velvet Underground and Nico," a few Kinks albums, et cetera, so Crossfeed is always off with these. If I ever do listen to the Beatles in stereo, it's with crossfeed on, because it makes a really big difference, especially with the original stereo mix of "Rubber Soul" (not the 1987 stereo remix that George Martin made with his failing hearing.)

FWIW, I never had problems with skipping w/crossfeed on the video iPod when I still had one, except with a single q8 Ogg track.  After discovering ABX, I started encoding at q4 and it stopped being an issue.
