"No partition found" error on 5.5G iPod w/video, 30GB

I know this has probably been asked a billion times, and forgive me if it really has, but after installing Rockbox, it boots up then halts with an error message "No partition found. Insert USB cable and fix problem", or something like that (I don't have the iPod with me at the moment). What have I done wrong or what can I do to fix this?

What color is the text in your bootloader?

Sounds exactly like the error on the 80GB. Which would be interesting if your's is really the 30GB. Perhaps there's a batch of broken 30GBs as well.

If he answers "black" to my question, it's really just a case of ignoring the warning at the top of the IpodInstallation page that those instructions are out of date, and he's installed the old bootloader that's not compatible with 5.5Gs at all.

Yes, it's black, but I installed the bootloader from the IpodInstallationBeta page.

Did you do anything to your partitions prior to using ipodpatcher?

So you downloaded this : http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/ipod/bootloader-ipodvideo.ipod file and used it as the bootloader you installed ?

If the background is light blue (may look white to you) and the text is black, you used a bootloader.bin and not a bootloader.ipod.

Hmmm...OK, I'll try reinstalling everything fresh.
