I was thinking "He was having a problem with ipodpatcher --scan, yet these instructions don't do that at all, what's the deal".

That's why I assumed you have the wrong iPod first, rather than the wrong bootloader. Heh.

If you're having an error: -1, you did NOT follow it properly. You skipped the entire section before the bootloader.

well .. i downloaded the ipodpatcher tool... then the bootloader-ipodnano.ipod... then the ONLY error i got was that

C:\iPOD\no1>chmod +x ipodpatcher
'chmod' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

...

everything else worked perfectly.. untill loading :P help ?

You're still not following the guide . The "chmod" bit is listed as for Linux / MacOSX users only - so you're not reading it very well.

Take another look at the guide here : http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-ipodnano/rockbox-buildch2.html#x4-60002

And follow section 2.2.2.

*sigh* the manual is written for "noobs".

If it's what the manual says - it's a pretty good bet that that's what you have to do. We don't write those instructions for the sake of it.
