Need help, nothing will boot

(1/2) > >>

dzapffe19:
I followed the directions to install rockbox on my ipod 4G

ipodpatcher --scan
ipodpatcher 4 -r bootpartition.bin
ipodpatcher 4 -a bootloader-ipod4g.ipod

Then I disconnected it

I forgot to actually put the latest rockbox into the control folder

Now my ipod trys to boot into rockbox but gives error:
Rockbox error: -1
loading original firmware

Then it restarts and does the same thing again

I cant get it to stop, I cant get windows to see it as a drive to add the rockbox firmware, I dont know what to do, please help!

Thank You!

Llorean:
Hold Menu+Select until the screen clears, then IMMEDIATELY hold Play+Select and it should go into disk mode.

If it doesn't try again until it does. Then finish the installation.

Febs:
And note that the build should be installed to your root directory, and not to the "control folder."

I cant get it to boot into disk mode

It shows the apple logo, then the rockbox bootloader then starts over again by itself

Am I doing something wrong? Im holding menu+select for 7-10 seconds, then as soon as its "clear" which is for maybe 1/2 a second before it goes back to the "apple" I hold  play+select, but nothing happens!

Any ideas?

dzapffe19:
Ok I fixed it thanks to your help!

I toggled the hold button a few times and tried it another few times, then finally it just went into disk mode, where I added all the rockbox files.

Thanks!
