"unknown option --scan"
shmengie:
hi all...
i think the subject sums up my issue pretty succinctly. i have a folder on c: called 'rockbox'. in that folder is ipodpatcher.exe and bootloader-ipodvideo.ipod. just so there's no confusion as to what i'm doing, i go start|run|cmd and at the c:\rockbox prompt i type
--- Code: ---ipodpatcher --scan
--- End code ---
i even copied/pasted from the documentation to make sure i got it right.
any/all help appreciated.
wxp sp2, ipod video, 30gb.
thx!
Llorean:
Are you sure you're using the newest version of iPodPatcher. That's the kind of message you'd get from the old version, I think
shmengie:
d'oh! yeah, thx. i didn't dig into the ipodpatcher folder, i just grabbed the latest from the root dir of http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/ipod. thx!
Llorean:
Is that the one linked to in the manual? Does that need to be fixed, or were you not following written directions from somewhere?
shmengie:
well, the link in the manual takes you to http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/ipod. from there, you have to navigate down one more folder, to http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/ipod/ipodcatcher. so, yeah, i suppose the man could use a quick update. hey, no fair! you already updated it! speaking of which...
the instructions for uninstalling have this command
--- Code: ---ipodpatcher -w N bootloader.bin
--- End code ---
this line should actually read
--- Code: ---ipodpatcher N -w bootloader.bin
--- End code ---
