"unknown option --scan"
« on: January 05, 2007, 10:20:20 PM »
hi all...

i think the subject sums up my issue pretty succinctly. i have a folder on c: called 'rockbox'. in that folder is ipodpatcher.exe and bootloader-ipodvideo.ipod. just so there's no confusion as to what i'm doing, i go start|run|cmd and at the c:\rockbox prompt i type
Code: [Select]
ipodpatcher --scan
i even copied/pasted from the documentation to make sure i got it right.

any/all help appreciated.

wxp sp2, ipod video, 30gb.

thx!

Are you sure you're using the newest version of iPodPatcher. That's the kind of message you'd get from the old version, I think

Is that the one linked to in the manual? Does that need to be fixed, or were you not following written directions from somewhere?

well, the link in the manual takes you to http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/ipod. from there, you have to navigate down one more folder, to http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/ipod/ipodcatcher. so, yeah, i suppose the man could use a quick update. hey, no fair! you already updated it! speaking of which...

the instructions for uninstalling have this command
Code: [Select]
ipodpatcher -w N bootloader.bin
this line should actually read
Code: [Select]
ipodpatcher N -w bootloader.bin

Ah, yes, the old version of ipodpatcher allowed the N to come after the -w, but the new one doesn't.

Yeah, we can be really fast ;) Butt please be aware the manual gets generated only once per day, so a change may take some time to actually get into it. For your information, I changed the link in the manual the same time the path changed as we discussed that change like at the same time...  ;D

Edit: I missed the fact that there was a wrong line in the manual. It's fixed now so in 20h or so when it gets regenerated this should be corrected in the manual. But who wants to uninstall Rockbox anyway? ;)
