For the benefit of others, what did you have to do to fix it?
dvatterott:
I had to edit the user account controls. Normally, vista asks if the user wants to allow a program to run and this causes the ipod patcher to open in a new window, but when this is turned off by going to the user account part of control panel it can be turned off and then follwed by a restart, everything works fine.

Okay, I'm trying to install Rockbox onto my 2Gb. iPod nano gen 1. I copied the orginal firmware, but installing the file "bootloader-ipodnano.ipod" will not work. I comes up with the line:
[ERR] --add-bootloader failed.
I tried redownloading the bootloader, and repeating the step.
Im entering in the command promt:
C:/rockbox/ipodpatcher 2 -a bootloader-ipodnano.ipod
Can you help me?
Febs:
My guess is that you have the bootloader-ipodvideo.ipod file in the \rockbox file, but you're running ipod patcher from your root directory.
