IPOD Video 60 Gb - Apple boot up screen always on

(1/1)

DMT:
I have an 5th G IPOD 60 Gb. It only shows the Apple logo. How do I get past this to use ROCKBOX?

I currently use Itunes 7 and it has installed the latest software update. I have done the restore numerous times through Disk Mode, and no difference. I even reformatted to Fat32 and still no difference?

How do I correct what ever problem there is in order to install ROCKBOX?

thanks

Would you care to enlighten us with whatever you mean by "done the restore numerous times" ?

DMT:
The first method is a "reset" which is by pushing the select and menu button at the same time.

The second method is done when the iPod is in disk mode. To go into disk mode, first do the reset and when the apple logo comes up then push the select and play/pause buttons for a couple of seconds. Then you can do the restore which overwrites all the data on the drive, and reinstalls the factory software.

A good idea is to try installing Rockbox first of all.

Or do you think you just do a restore and Rockbox cames from "beyond"...:o

Yeah - I see nothing here which says you've even attempted to start the rockbox install. It doesn't just magically appear on your iPod.
