Just a question.
« on: January 03, 2007, 02:24:27 AM »
Hello, i was just wondering what happened to my i pod. I have a 5.5G video ipod and i installed rock box a couple of minutes ago. It launched and i thought it worked. But then I was starting up rockbox and it said something like "failure to load rock box" or something like that and now it only launches The normal ipod software. I was wondering if i should reinstall it or is there a way to launch it. Sorry i am new at this. Thank you for your time.

Well, the first thing is that "something like that" is not an error message. Try telling us exactly what it says, so that we know what error message you're actually getting.

Did you put the Rockbox files onto the iPod?

As in is the .Rockbox folder and the rockbox.ipod file in your iPod root folder. That's what it sounds like to me.

Yes, it sounds like you installed the bootloader but did not install the firmware.  Check out the Installation chapter of the manual for explanation of how to install a build of the firmware.
