Rockbox Ports are now being developed for various digital audio players!
Hey I was just wondering what is the battery life on my rockbox 5G Ipod Vs. the same iPod with the original firmware... Both ONLY playing music (nonstop from beginning of battery life to end)...

1) We require you to use real words. Not abbreviations like "smth" or replacements like "4" for "for."
2) The numbers on the IpodRuntime data are real, and submitted by users like you. If you're getting 1/7 of your Retail Firmware livetime, I would hazard that you are not comparing under identical conditions. 1/2 is much more common.
The goal is to have better battery life than the original firmware.
The most likely cause is hardware that is active when it shouldn't be (such as when we did not properly sleep the USB on the go hardware for the H300)
but because of the lack of documentation for the PortalPlayer chipset, it may be some time before these issues are resolved.
Primarily we need documentation that PortalPlayer specifically does not release without a non-disclosure agreement, so if such were available to you it would be unfortunately unusable by us.
Oka guess there are plenty of PortalPlayer documents. Can you define the scope?
Ha! Â This is the problem, there are no freely available PortalPlayer documents. Â As for the scope, datasheets for all chips used would be nice, so long as we can legally use them! Â This I doubt
