Bootloader wont load Apple firmware

Awesome! That worked and now I can actually run apple's firmware (which is great for charging). Thanks for all the help here!

For the record, I installed it from a windows machine because an important link was broken on the linux guide (ipod_fw)

Glad it's working for you.  I've now fixed the link to ipod_fw.c (it was pointing to CVS instead of the new SVN).
