Bootloader wont load Apple firmware

<< < (3/4) > >>

Chronon:
It appears to be a problem with the new bootloader and some older models of iPods.   The following disclaimer is at the top of the IpodInstallationBeta page:

--- Quote ---NOTE: These instructions are known to have problems with the 1st and 2nd Generation Mini and 4G (Greyscale) ipods - Rockbox loads correctly, but the original Apple firmware will not start. Also, ipodpatcher does not yet work with the 3G (third generation) ipods. If you have one of these ipods, you should continue using the old installation instructions linked to from the IpodPort page.
--- End quote ---

The only old method I found was for windows and I'm running linux. Am I missing something? I've also tried Ipodlinux's bootloader and it mentions dependency issues. (textinput and tiwidgets)

Chronon:
Did you try this: IpodInstallationFromLinux?

shanepardue:
I have to be honest..I'm a little intimidated by that method. Is there a chance that this bug will be fixed?

Yes, it will be fixed, but I can't say when.
