after Rockbox update H120 won't play no more

<< < (3/4) > >>

kuuan:
version 6

kuuan:
now I tried to start from the beginning.
Firmware is 1.66 JP, I opened the fwpatcher.exe and browsed to the firmware 1.66 JP and clicked 'patch', a message appears reading: 'could not open firmware'
That did not happen when I installed rockbox the first time.

I remember I was amazed that I had succeeded in getting Rockbox to run that time. Should have studied up, but what for, it has been working...I need to understand more:
So I must ask:
what is 'flashing'?
what is: first to ROM, and then to re-flash?
Or don't I need?

Febs:
If you have bootloader v6, then you don't need to change the bootloader.

Try this:

1.  Plug in your player to USB.  Navigate to the .rockbox folder and rename it to something like .rockbox-old.

2.  Delete your existing rockbox.iriver file.

3.  Download a new build and extract it to the root of your player.

4.  Disconnect from USB and try booting Rockbox.

If you still have trouble, try clearing the settings from the Main Menu --> Manage Settings --> Reset Settings.

kuuan:
had made he stupid mistake and had copied the files to another drive...there are so many on this - not mine - PC, and there was a small, almost one empty called H
finally did put .rockbox and rockbox.iriver on the player's root, it asked me if I wanted to reboot now and I said yes.
The appearance on the iriver was new then, not the one I had configured, but on trying playback the codec failure continued. Conected to USB again, and now it is not recognized any more!! :'(

edit: after restarting both player via USB recognized again, I then again transferred both .rockbox and rockbox.iriver, and now it does play the music!  ;D

then I tried to open the .rockbox file on the player to configure the interface, but the .rockbox folder has a cross as symbol to ot's left and does not open, instead it jumps back to the root folder.

good to know!

tried to, but I can't rename the .rockbox file. Even though I doid type a new name it says I must type a filename and on enter does not change it's name.

did that

and that, now playback is normal! ;D
However there is a cross next to the .rockbox file and it is not accessable inside the H120. ( edit: now accessable, had to choose in 'general setting' > 'file view' >  'show all' first )

was not necessary.

THANK'S ;)

later edit:
theme, font and button behaviour are congigured to my liking again, but there is one disturbing thing remaining:
in the recording screen I only can adjust the total gain, I cannot choose if I want to adjust a single channel individually or both together as it used to be.
Can I define this in the settings, or is this changed from earlier rockbox versions?
