ipod 30gig video: wont turn on

i recently put rockbox onto my ipod. now when i try turning the ipod on, the apple logo flashes for a split second, then a black bar about 1 inch tall appears on the bottom of the screen, then it just shuts down. ive tryed turning the hold switch on and off, then holding menu+center button for 15 seconds, but nothing works. since the apple logo comes up, i think theres some battery life left. any ideas on how to solve this?

Try charging it for a period of time just to rule out a fully discharged battery as the source of your problem.

And if it isn't the battery then I would suggest that you put it into disk mode.  (Menu + Center then Center + Play after it reboots) and then reformat it and then retry to install Rockbox.
