Right now the limit is due to the fact that it doesn't rebuffer. A 30 minute TV show is almost entirely out of the question unless you encoded it at a size so small, and a low enough bitrate (think 100kbps video and 80kbps audio maybe) that you wouldn't enjoy watching it at all.
That being said, once rebuffering is in, in theory there's no upper limit to the filesize (beyond that of the filesystem). Just have patience.

The upper-limit will be the FAT32 2GB limit. But we should be able to find ways around that.

It could have very simple playlisting (non recursive play of a folder, perhaps?)
