Rockbox installer problem
« on: December 31, 2006, 12:34:53 PM »
Help! I installed Rockbox with iPL  on my iPod Video 60GB. When I try to use the plugins,  it says "Incompatible Model". It says that for every plugin except for  battery bench. I really want to use the plugins, but they don't work! I downloaded the latest CVS build and it still won't work!

Are you SURE you're downloading the build for the Ipod Video? Also try the daily build if that doesn't work, though it should.

when updating you need to overwrite the _complete_ .rockbox folder, not only the rockbox.ipod file.

Btw, "nothing works" isn't a good subject. From your post it looks like this only affects plugins ...

I'm not an iDiot, of course I replace everything in the .rockbox folder! I downloaded the daily build and put it on and when I tried to start it, it went to the "format /w itunes" screen. I'll try it again, but I don't know if it will work.

Nobody called you an idiot. ???
"Incompatible Model" comes up when the plugins are build for a different version of Rockbox. This happens quite frequently upon updating, and may not only be caused by users skipping the .rockbox folder because they think it's not necessary to replace it but also by some archive software skipping the folder because it's hidden. Which is the reason why I mentioned this...
