Clear Dynamic Playlist
« on: December 30, 2006, 07:13:17 PM »
A little about myself:  Running the daily build for iriver (H20).  I'm also a very new user, having just received the player at the recommendation of Make's gift guide.

My basic issue is this: how do I clear the dynamic playlist without power cycling the player?

I've read the manual, it says the dynamic playlist can only be cleared (replaced, technically) when playback is stopped, not paused.  The only way to completely stop the music is to turn the player off and on.  (Assuming play-on-startup is disabled, of course.)

wtf, posted under the wrong category.

I would move it, but the forum won't let me delete this thread.

If you stop playback (stop button) the playlist is empty.

There is no stop button on the H20 (H10, 20Gb).

I just found this thread though, same issue:

This thread is misplaced and redundant.   Why can't I delete my own posts?

Sorry, I read H120, not H20. Either way, on the H20 you can stop playback too, the controls are just different.

It's showing that you should be able to delete your own posts. Does the delete button show up?

The delete button is there, but gives the message "you can't delete your own posts" when used on the first/only message of a thread.  Thread protecion makes sense for archival purposes.

Ah, yeah.  Hold play/pause for stop.

I'm guessing I didn't hold the button for long enough the first few times I tried.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Try holding down the Play/Pause button for a second or three. I know that you *can* stop playback on the H10-20gb, I just don't know what button it is as I don't own one.

It's best to refer to it by the H10 name, by the way, since that's what it actually is and we tend to encourage precision on these boards to help eliminate confusion. The whole H10 series are identical in terms of control under Rockbox anyway.

There should be a link in the lower left corner, above the quick reply box, that says "Remove topic" if you started the thread. I *may* have disabled the ability for users to remove threads, even ones they started, but I'm not 100% sure. I can't seem to find an option to keep users from removing their own threads, but allow them to remove individual posts now that I look, so I'm slightly uncertain how I have it set. :)
