I think a Simpsons theme for the nano would be pretty cool.  Maybe a doughnut that gets "eaten" as the volume is decreased, something like that.  I have a couple backgrounds that I've been trying to work with.

To jump in:
a Miles Davis Theme or a Trombone Theme (with a moving slide as statusbar....) would give a little more extra to all the extras of rockbox.

In regards to Dans Xbox theme: I had envisaged something a bit more like Xbox dashboard, which gives you room to make it look much nicer (at least IMHO).

hi ive was a normal member to and i also created themes, i had themes uploaded when the old forums existed.  But since i dont have a computer anymore, i use the library, with no photoshop. :( so i was wondering if anybody can create a theme with tuner cars. I would appreciate it.

Im going to start creating themes, as soon as i get a laptop.

No offence taken btw. But Could you possibley post a picture of the dashboard or send me a message, cause I don't actually HAVE an Xbox 360, and I've only actually played one once or twice (Depressing, no?) But I'd be glad to make another theme like what you were thinking  ;D

Also, I am honestly having trouble finding pictures of simpsons stuff, so I'm not sure when that's going to get done. If anyone finds anything, send me or post the pictures. I really like the Miles Davis theme idea, so I'm going to start on that, but I do have to go shopping for blender drink items (Shhhhhh...It's a new-year family tradition...So What If I'm 15). Anyway, I should hopefully have that done in the next couple days.

To Beto_El_Puma: I'm not entirely sure what you mean by tuner cars, so if you'd be kind enough to point me in the right direction, that'd be wonderful.

The X, Y, A, B buttons could actually be used for some sort of indicator lights.
That's the only idea I have.

The buttons btw change the outline color and glow a little bit when they're being used, so I'm not quite sure if that's what you meant by "indicator lights."

Also, by 'a bit more like the xbox dashboard', I didn't mean 'model it after the dashbaord'. I mean that you should make a theme in that style, with the slick photoshopped graphics and use of gradients and such. Personally, I don't like the background picture with all the green circles in your existing theme, as it doesn't really look all that good despite it being relevant. But heck, this is just my opinion- there are probably people out there that like the theme and don't want to change it at all.

Wow Dan, I must say the fact that these are seriously KICKASS, and that no good skins have been posted in the last few months...great to see you come back with such an open mind to make nice skins.  I also like that you say how updates will come with these guys, meaning that you do not intend to create half-assed versions and then move on to the next one blindly.

Once again, major props to you (love the themes coming out so far) and glad to see you back!

I love the clean look of it so if you could work that in it would be amazing.

i started working on one of those a couple months ago, then got sidetracked. perhaps i will go and finish it now.

edit: not feeling very creative tonight, but here is a background that has most of the text and graphics removed. it's wider than it should be, because i could never decide where to crop it. if anyone gets the inspiration, feel free to use it.

Yes, just to let you know

I'm still working on the themes...Just swamped with homework...Trying to get back into my normal high school...Missed a lot, at some intensive day program now, long story short.

"Zune-Esque" Theme request
« Reply #28 on: January 04, 2007, 11:48:16 PM »
Hey Everyone,

I'd love to do the rest of this project myself, but the coding of it seems rather daunting to a newbie... I would love it if someone could lay the groundwork or give some hints on where to start.

If anyone wants to partner up on this theme, let me know, and I can provide the psd I have built so far. The font would be Lucida Sans 12pt (or close equiv). I'm a stickler for grid and alignment (design major) so let me know if I'm setting myself up for failure with this design before I put too much more time into this idea.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

-Jon

the basic layout idea. borrowing from the feel of a zune.

a "beauty shot" mockup to stir up some interest from developers  ;)

I see nothing on there that would scare me away from coding.  How do you want to handle if the text is too long to fit on the right?  The two most common solutions are to scroll (which would require the scroll margins patch or an unofficial build that includes it) or to just let it go off the right side of the screen (tons easier, and I personally prefer that as I don't like scrolling text).

You can easily do the non-scrolling option by just putting spaces in front of the stuff.  Check out my Lights and White Lights themes in the iPod 5G WPS gallery
