H100 (IHP-100) flashing

Hi,

currently the Iriver flashing page
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/ManualRockboxInstall#Introduction
doesn't specifically mention the H100 (iHP-100) model in the firmware list.

Is it safe to use the iHP-110 firmware file called ihp_100.hex?
If it is, it would avoid confusion if this is added to this page.

I see the iHP-110 mentioned many times on that page, as well as the ihp_100.hex file. Perhaps you should be clearer where on the page exactly you find it missing or confusing? The anchor point you've linked is just the introduction at the very top, and you've not given enough information for me to be able to guess what your problem is with the page.

I see the iHP-110 ...

My model is called iHP-100, not 110. The daily builds refer to the
iriver H100/115 model, but the flashing instructions don't.

The confusing part is the table of original firmwares to download.
This has the caption " iriver model     Firmware version"
and then only lists many entries for " iHP120, iHP140, H120, H140"
as well as "iHP110 and iHP115" and "H320 and H340 INT", but no H100.

So this might give the idea that for the H100 a different base firmware
is needed...

There is no H100 unit. There is what may be referred to as the "H100 series" which consiste of the iHP110 and iHP115. An H100 would, by iRiver's numbering scheme, have 0 storage.

I'm touching one right now (a used ebay bargain...)
and yes, it has storage

It says iHP-100 on the front over the display and
has a sticker on the back saying
"Model No iHP-100."

Apart from that it looks like the other H120/H140's I've seen so far.

The series is iHP-100, which is why the .hex file for the whole series is the same, ihp-h100.hex, but the unit itself is either an ihp-110 or ihp-115 depending on whether it has 10gb or 15gb of storage.

It has 10GB, so it must be a H110 by your definition.

Maybe the units were labeled differently at the beginning,
when only 10GB models where available..

BTW, in case someone else searches for the same problem,
flashing the H100 works as expected.

Well, post a bug report on the patch tracker then suggesting that a note be made in the installation instructions that  units labelled with the "ihp-100 may be either ihp-110s or ihp-115s, and use the same file"
