Bootloader Question...

(1/2) > >>

kwiw:
I have installed rockbox on my new 5.5th gen ipod video and would like to use both the apple OS and the rockbox firmware.. I have notice that the rockbox firmware is the default firmware...Is it possible to change the apple OS to the default?? As i would just like to show my friends rockbox but use Apple for music, films and audio books...

Is it possible?

linuxstb:
The Apple firmware never actually powers-off the ipod (it either sleeps or hibernates), so once you start the Apple firmware, it stays there until you reset it by holding MENU+SELECT.

But to answer your question, no the Rockbox bootloader doesn't allow you to set the Apple firmware to be the default.

kwiw:
Ok Thanks for the quick reply.

 ;D

kwiw:
Can i use loder 2 to have a choice weather to load the apple OS or the rockbox firmware?

heinimuecki:
i don't know if the ipod video is supported by the loader 2
i works fine with my ipod color, i can choose which firmware to boot in
and which by default.
