Viewing H320 without the back light?

Is there anyway to view what is on the screen of the H320 without the backlight on? OR do I have to touch a button everytime I want to view what is on the screen?

I know with the H120 you were able to see what was going on with the screen without the backlight. I am using mine for recording and would like to set the levels and use a flashlight to view the screen from time to time.

with the backlight off its bassically impossible to see whats o the screen (also, i think the display is actually turned off when the backlight is off anyway).
