Ipod stocks in boot loader

(1/2) > >>

SySt3m:
Hi there!
I got a brand new apple ipod 5.5g yesterday evening. i tried to install rockbox on it and now i sadly think my little black 30g ipod is dead.
i please you all to help me out of this crappy situation. :(

I used an automatic installer

here is what the ipod is showing all the time:

--- Quote ---Rockbox boot loader
Version: 20060126-1839
IPOD version: 0xFFFFFFFF
TOSHIBA MK3008GAL
No Partition found
Partition 1: 0x0B 7130 MB
Loading Rockbox...
--- End quote ---

i tried every reset, with cable, without, with pressing MENU while the boot loader starts, it ran out of battery, but when the battery is full enough, the problem starts again.
you see, its very serious :( the ipod stucks on the loader, the original software is not able to load and when i connect it to my pc, it stucks always at the same position and its not shown on my explorer :(

i dont know what to do. if i bring it to the store i bought it, they will see, that i modified the software. i think i can do nothing on myself to fix the problem, so i have no other choice.

Llorean:
1) There is NO official automatic installer. You should be asking for help from the person who provided you the unofficial installer.

2) Hold Menu+Select, as soon as the screen clears when it reboots, hold Play+Select to until it comes up in disk mode. From there you should be able to uninstall.

linuxstb:
Restore your ipod using itunes, and then follow the official install instructions.

SySt3m:
hi and thank you for your help.

@Llorean
thanks, i will try this combination

@linuxstb
i can't use itunes, because my ipod is not in the explorer. the ipod doesn't boot so i cant use itunes :(
this is the easiest way to restore an ipod, but as i already said, it isn't possible.

scorche:
It is possible if you put the ipod into disk mode, as Llorean said.
