H10 Loading stops
« on: December 23, 2006, 05:24:34 PM »
2006-12-19 is is starting fine , but next ones are not.

Maybe i dont know haw to use :

19 Dec 12:33   Barry Wardell : Add working dual-boot bootloaders for H10 and Sansa, which allow booting the OF and Rockbox..........

It stops like that :  ...........
                              Model name: h10_
                              Sum 2CC47C

and just staying on like that.
Only batary removal can torn it off.

Exactly the same issue here.

Luckily, changing rockbox back to ~18.12 build allows it to load. The drawback is, of course, no normal firmware (= no fm radio).

I followed the new instructions step by step, and I'm sure I didn't mess anything up.

iriver H10 6GB MTP. With the bootloader from here. With the instructions from the wiki, I would've link them, but the site won't work.

Thanks in advance.

I'd point you to this page: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/H10InstallationBeta and ask you if it were the same (if not, try it) but at the moment the website's down, so there's not much to do about it until it's brought back.

Since the dual-boot changes were added to CVS, you have to update both the both bootloader and rockbox itself (just once though - you don't need to do it every time). Not updating the bootloader is known to cause the problems reported here. The bootloaders on http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/iriver/ have been updated to versions that work with current CVS builds.

The instructions are pretty much the same as for when installing Rockbox for the first time, with the addition that for booting the OF, you need a file called OF.bin in the System directory. This file should be an original mi4 file from iriver, decrypted and header stripped with mi4code - something like 'mi4code decrypt -s H10.mi4 OF.bin' where H10.mi4 is the name of the iriver mi4 file.

You then hold <- while starting up to load the OF.

Huh, seems like there was an old version of the bootloader when the dual-boot update came.

Downloaded this one, works fine.

Thanks.
