difficulty with new hard drive

I installed a Western Digital WD1200UE Scorpio 120 gb hd into my jbr v.1 and it worked great for about 3 weeks. I didn't get around to installing Rockbox at that time. Yesterday it hung during bootup at 3 bars and would go no farther. Hooking up to usb showed the usb logo on the lcd, but no recognition by my computer.

I removed the 120 hd and hooked it up to a usb adapter, and it worked fine.

I reinstalled my old 20 gb hd in the Archos, and it worked fine.

I installed Rockbox in the 120 gb hd, but no luck with bootup when back in Archos.

I attempted to install Rockbox into the flash memory, but the site to download firmware not available:

So now when I turn on the Archos with the 20 gb hd it shows . rockbox, Restore, Music, Recycled, etc menu

Wow, what a mess. Any ideas on how I should proceed?
