A-B repeat w/ Video Ipod

Does A-B repeat work for anyone with a video ipod?  Not working on mine and it's THE feature I installed Rockbox for.  Yes, I've tried menu left and menu right many times with Repeat set to A-B.

Yup, that's the same ipod I have and using rockbox-ipodvideo-20061219.

Same Ipod I have too...the directions in the manual for setting the A and B points outlined in the manual don't seem to work, and judging by info in the forum search, this is a problem a lot of users are having.

I remember reading a topic that resolves this issue as a problem with the document listing the wrong button to set points.

I'm not sure though.

well... I don't even own an Ipod but this is how I read the recent changes on the rockbox.org-frontpage:

  AB mode must be disblaed ot get into the browser.

...it seems to me that A-B repeat was enabled for the Ipods but not usable because no-one defined buttons to set the markers. Now it should be possible as stated above.

Okay, so it looks like it's under development today.  Hope it's ready soon!

How about saving marked Repeats to a playlist?!

Based on that commit message, A-B repeat should be functional.  Download the most recent CVS build if you want to try it out.

Okay, now I'm getting picky, but this is crucial - Yes, I can select a repeat, but not to the beat!  Upon selection of the endpoint playback should immediately go to the start point.  As is, playback goes on for a few more seconds and the loop points seem to be off a bit.  This might take a lot of work to fix, but the Edirol R-09 does this perfectly (actually only with wav files, mp3s are a little off).

Now that I've started someone will have to tell me to stop or where better to post.  

Dynamic looping needs work, maybe on all players, not just Ipods...

So far results from using Rockbox w/ Ipod Video 5g 60gb with 12222006 build:

.wav loop points are accurate in some cases (easy to grab a beat on the fly!)

if endpoint not set before end of file, unexpected results (endpoint should default to eof if not set by user)

.mp3 loop points require an offest, currently not accurate and very difficult to get a good loop

current play should become startpoint upon selection of endpoint or eof, file plays on for a few seconds in this build (buffer pointer needs update in reference to new endpoint?)
