ipod mini help "bad boot sector signature"
(1/1)
ear:
Hello,
I've reformatted my ipod mini 2g into FAT32 on a friends PC. I then later did the ipod restore on my Mac.
I'm now trying to install Rockbox on my Mac but when I try the command "./ipodpatcher /dev/disk1 -r bootpartition.bin" I get a prompt which says "[INFO] Sector size is 512 bytes, [ERR] Bad boot sector signature"
I get the same response when I try the next step as well (the bootloader step).
I'm not experienced using the terminal but can follow directions........
Where do I go from here?
Anything I can do?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Running the ipod restore on your Mac will convert it back to HFS+...

Thanks.
I reformatted again (this time following the instructions on how to do it on my mac) and am now running rockbox..... Hurray!!
I've been using it on my iriver and trying to get it going on my wife's mini for a couple of weeks now.........
I'm a huge fan. Thanks for developing it.
