Auto-Change Directory - Random not working

Auto-Change Directory works, but makes no difference either on Yes or on Random, both just advance to the next directory alphabetically.

Using iAudio X5 60Gb with 17.12.06 Daily build.

Have you run the random_folder_advance_config plugin? The random option needs a file that plugin creates.

No, it's part of the Rockbox build.  Go to Main Menu --> Browse Plug-Ins and select it from there.

BTW -- what if i only want random advance to choose between certain folders on my player?  is there any way to do this?  for example so it won't include my mega-huge audio books directory, or weed out the rap music when i'm in polite company, that kinda thing.

Try the feature out before asking questions, you'll notice the plugin lets you configure which folders are included in the shuffle.

ah, thanks for letting me know that.  i haven't run a recent build lately, since i've wanted to hang on to my own special build which still has "insert random folders" and "crossfade on track skip or shuffle mode" on it.  plus have been busy-as-hell with work.
