If you type "dir" (without the quotes) is there a file called apple_os.bin in the list now?

If it works properly, you just see a blank line, and then C:\Rockbox> again.

yup apple os is there.

You may at one point get a message "Generating firmware image for iPod Video" or something similar, but that's just because we never updated the message, it's also not an error as long as you type the commands shown.

!!! ahh so I type dir then check to see if those files are in my ipod?

No, dir just shows you if those files are in the folder you're in. You don't actually end up putting any files on your iPod from this part of the process.

The very last step, ipodpatcher -w N rockboot.bin writes data to your iPod. All the rest of the files are just temporary for while we work, which is why it doesn't matter where you keep them.
