Browsing playlists on iPod video

PHK Brasil:
Hi!

I saved a playlist, but when I go to Browse Playlists, it's empty.

So I perceived that the playlists are created on iPod root folder. Then I moved the playlist to the Playlist folder (Yes, the original iPod's firmware Playlist folder).

Then I go to Browse Playlist and the playlist appears and can be browsed.

Is a bug?

Yotto:
I would say yes.  The "save playlist" should default to the playlists folder, not the root.

bluebrother:
No.
"Save current playlist" has an absolute path when saving -- just note the / in front of the name, which means the playlist gets saved in the root folder unless you type something else.

Playlist catalog should default to /Playlists/ (which it does by pre-filling the entry line with "/Playlists/") which works fine. No bug here.

Btw, what do you mean by "Browse playlists"? I don't have any menu entry for that, do you mean setting the file view setting to "Playlists"?

Thanks for the replies.

bluebrother, you're right. I posted this with infos in my memory. Where I wrote "Browse Playlist", please read "Playlist Catalog".

But, as the same way I save my eqs on right folder automatically, doesn't have a way to fix this in firmware, instead of typping "/Playlists/" every time you need to save? Then, when saving playlists, the virtual keyboards open with the text "/Playlists/dynamic.m3u8".

Maybe I'll keep saving in my way (moving the file), cause the virtual keyboard sucks! Just kidding!!!

Thanks a lot.

Save the playlist using the wps context menu, Playlist catalog / Add to new playlist. That way the input lie gets prefilled with /Playlists/ and you can simply type the name of your new playlist. Playlist / Save current playlist isn't intended to save in that folder (as it is more generic).
In other words:
Playlist catalog folder -> /Playlists
Usual playlist (w/o using catalog) -> everywhere you like

(Remember that you can use your player with the file tree view, and for that it makes perfectly sense to save playlists in any folder)
