Sleep Option [iPod 4G Color]
« on: December 14, 2006, 04:45:07 PM »
Is there any way I can make it so I can say go into System -> Sleep to put my iPod into Sleep or turn off instead of having to REBOOT and go into the loader2 and then select sleep? (As this takes too long).

Just wondering... anyways I gotta jet :D

Edit: I forgot to mention that I know there is a delay option for sleep/off however as you all know the 4G battery is very weak with rockbox. So having to wait with that delay becomes a hassle... atleast battery wise.

You could read the manual, which instructs you that turning your iPod off in Rockbox is as simple as holding "Play/Pause."

The manual was written for a reason, please read it before asking questions.

I'm sorry, but holding play/pause doesn't work on my iPod. That is the reason I brought this up. I have owned an iPod for a good amount of time and my first attempt was to use Play/Pause... Ill see if removing rockbox and putting it back on will fix the problem  :-\

Seeing as you used the phrase "Sleep" and made no mention of knowing that the actual poweroff function existed (asking for it to be in the menus, instead of saying "The power off button does not work for me" letting us know you were experiencing a real problem other than not reading the manual) we could not possibly have guessed you'd tried that.

As well, try installing Rockbox the official way, using the official bootloader, and see if that resolves your button problems, as for strange reasons it has in the past.
