ipodpatcher v0.4 probs

Had to nuke my 5g 30 gb; downloaded ipodpatcher 0.4, couldn't find the pod even though it shows up in win2k as a drive and otherwise seems to work.  The error msg is either

Error reading disk geometry: The network request is not supported.

or
Error opening disk: The system cannot find the file specified.

or
Error reading disk geometry: Incorrect function.
 
depending on the disk number I give.
I really want to reinstall rockbox - I HATE the ipod software...but can't get past this spot

Does ipodpatcher v0.3 work any better?  Source code and the .exe file are in this zip file:

Edit: I forgot to say that ipodpatcher v0.3 will only work with the older 5gs (those sold before September 2006) - v0.4 should work with all 5gs.  When did you buy your 5g?

Thanks!  v0.3 worked fine - I got the pod for xmas last year - guess it had been sitting on the shelf a couple months...

It seems the sector-size detection required for supporting the new 5g (aka 5.5g) in ipodpatcher-0.4 doesn't work on win2k.

Would you be able to test this version of ipodpatcher and see if it's any better?

For your ipod, you should see a message saying that the sector size is 512 bytes.

You don't need to read or write anything - just typing "ipodpatcher N" and ipodpatcher successfully finding your ipod should be enough to test.
