Rockbox Errors
Jon_:
I jus recently loaded one of the new rockbox builds for my 5th Gen iPod and when i boot into rockbox and try to play a song it pops up with codec failure, when i try to load a plugin, it says incompatible version. I tried, deleting the .rockbox folder and the rockbox.ipod file and install it all over again but this problem just continued to persist. I've been using rockbox for almost a year now and this problem is just strange, right now i'm using an older build and it works perfectly fine, but the newer builds don't seem to cooperate with the iPod properly.
Take Care,
Jon
p.s Help would be greatly appreciated.
bascule:
Did you actually clear the settings?
Menu>Mange settings>Reset settings (or reboot with the 'hold' switch on?... I'm not so sure about iPod harware stuff)
It fixes lots of version upgrade problems.
silentalex:
I had an old rockbox version (2.4 i think) and worked fine. Today I tried the latest release and I have exactly the same problems as JON_ . Any ideas?

You never had version 2.4 on the ipod. Only cvs versions run on ipods, there hasn't been any release yet.
Make sure you replaced both rockbox.ipod and the .rockbox folder and you ejected your ipod correctly from the pc (to make sure all data gets synced to disk correctly).
soap:
Soap still hasn't heard anyone say they cleared the settings by booting with the hold key on.
