2 Partitions, ipod mini
« on: December 08, 2006, 10:00:09 AM »
Hello,

I just bought (ebay) an ipod min 2G and want to ask a question, because I did not find the answer in the manual or the forum.

For a certain reason, I have to make 2 partitions on the HD and only the second can used by rockbox. As I know, the rockbox uses the first primary FAT partion. Becuse I get mine in a few weeks, I can not test it myself.

So my question is:
Will it work if partition as follows:

3 GByte NTFS primary
3 GByte FAT  primary

Does Rockbox sees the FAT - partition and starts correctly? Or have I hide the NTFS one? Or is it impossible?

Thanks in advance

Rockbox always uses the first primary FAT partition it finds. So having a partition of different type first shouldn't cause any problems (but you could always make the NTFS partition the second ...)

Thanks for answering.

Unfortunatly, I cant make the NTFS the second one. Therefore my question.
As soon as I have my ipod mini, I will try it by myself. But it should work.
