Clix Theme for X5 - help adding voltage on the status bar
« on: December 02, 2006, 01:51:59 PM »
Hi,

I've spent a hours working on this (using the manual and viewing other files) trying to understand the wps editing but decided I need help!!!

I love the Clix theme for X5 but just want to add the battery voltage after the time/date on the top line of the display (status bar?) because currently the battery display is inaccurate on Rockbox for the X5

I've tried various mods on the .wps file but the closest I can get to it is actually showing the voltage after the date (using the %bvv) but then I get a corruption of some kind on the first line and the word 'Menu' appearing and also the text 'pbar.bmp' gets displayed on the second line - basically I think I hosed the file with the change I made!!!

The line I edited was (with the %bvv inserted):

%e|2|4|90|2|C8BFB5|%t10%al%?mh < Battery: %bl%%|%cl:M pc %bvv>;%e|2|4|90|2|C8BFB5|%t10%al%?mh < Battery: %bl%%| %cm/e/yc %bvv>

I would really appreciate if someone with some experience could advise me what line to edit in the clix wps file to get the voltage displayed on the status bar after the time/date display without it affecting any of the other layout.

Part of the problem maybe my lack of understanding of the syntax:

%e|2|4|90|2|C8BFB5|
or
e|10|96|146|2|FFFFFF|

Which I can't find explained anywhere, searched the manual etc.

Appreciate your patience with a newbie  :)

Thanks
Paul

example

%e|10|28|145|2|FFFFFF|

%e     ->      always use that
10      ->      starts 10 pixels from the left
28      ->      28 pixels from the top
2        ->      use font number 2
FFFFFF->      color of font
145    ->      scroll 145 pixels, so since i start from 10 it goes to 155 or 5 pixels from the right

it looks like the line with the title Gethsemane
my custom clix theme for x5 :) (I still have not gotten an artist badge) lol

(still working on it)

edit:
Do you want both time and date to be displayed? (I prefer just the time)
Do you want it in a fixed position? (Even if the date and time changes its dimensions it will stay in one place)(I would prefer this)

I would try to make what your doing as 2 separate lines.

paeuk, I just inserted your addition into one of my Clix WPS's using the simulator and it works correctly.  Not sure what the problem you're having could be, but by you mentioning that "Menu" was displaying it appears the theme is not showing the background image in the WPS (only the menu backdrop), so apparently there's something else wrong with your code.

I'd advise starting fresh with a new Clix WPS and adding the line you pasted in your message, and see if that works, since it should.

HWEB21, nice Clix edit!  When you're done with it post it in the Wiki - I haven't posted any new X5 themes in over a month now, and it looks like no one else has either.   :)

Thanks HWEB21 and MrMEC for the help - much appreciated.

Your suggestion MrMEC of returning to a new Clix WPS fixed the problem. Still not sure what I had done in the previous attempts that resulted in the corruption but it now is fine.

Also appreciate the explanation of the syntax of that line HWEB21.

Well pleased  ;D
