OGG/FLAC files?

(1/1)

JonathanHull:
I know Rockbox can play OGG/Vorbis, and it can play FLAC. But does anyone know if it can play OGG/FLAC? OGG is just a container format (similar to AVI), and Vorbis is the codec that is wrapped in the OGG container. It is possible to also wrap other codecs in a OGG container with FLAC being the most common after Vorbis. Does this work with Rockbox and/or is anyone planning on implementing it if not?

It's not important, I am more curious than anything. It's easy enough to recode OGG/FLAC to regular FLAC.

RotAtoR:
No, Ogg FLAC is not currently supported and I've heard of no current plans to implement it. Pulling the FLACs out of the Ogg container would be your best bet for the time being.

You can always put in a feature request ;)
