IRiver H10 (20gb): possibilty to use ums instead of mtp
« on: November 29, 2006, 06:06:56 AM »
Hi all,

I've recently bought a Iriver H10 20gb, and i was quite disapointed when i saw that it's support only mtp as default transfer mode (that's especially annoying since i'm using linux).

The IRiver H10 5/6gb seems not concerned, because one of the last firmware update permits to switch from mtp to ums.

Since it's seems to be a firmware related issue, i was wondering if a future version of rockbox could activate the ums mode by default? Is that possible? Or would it be too difficult to implement?

The "emergency connection" works fine so far, but, well :)

TIA
Marv

It may be a long while before Rockbox has a native USB mode on the H10 series, but when Rockbox has its own USB mode it almost certainly will only be UMS.
