Based on the information that you have provided to me so far, the only thing that I can conclude is that (a) you are using a 5.5g iPod, which is not yet supported by Rockbox, (b) you have done something wrong during the installation process, or (c) you have a hardware problem.   I can't help you any further unless you provide me with the information that I asked for.

oh thats the problem i am using a 5.5 generation ipod XD.  Do you have any idea rock box will be able to go on the 5.5 generation ipod?

Because Rockbox is based entirely on the efforts of volunteers who work in their spare time, it is impossible to predict when developments will occur, and therefore, we have a policy that we do not estimate release dates.  If you'd like more information, please read the thread on the 5.5g in the "New Ports" forum.

(And for that reason, I removed the thread you posted asking this same question.)
