mini 2gen problems with shutdown and recharge

(1/2) > >>

capibara:
HI! I'm new here. Installed Rockbox for a month ago, it worked perfectly, except two minor problems:

When I hold down PLAY, the shutdown menu appeares, than the apple logo and the mini reboots. The only way to shut it down is to enter the original firmware. Will this problem ever be fixed? I really need Rockbox, because of the balance adjustment. My left ear is a bit "damaged" and I need -3 on the scale to get the same sound level in both channels.

2nd problem is that the player constantly reboots when connected to a mains adapter, I need to enter apple firmware to recharge. Of course I can't use Rockbox while recharging and the battery capacity is only 25% compared to the original firmware. Using Rockbox at a party without being worried about the battery would be nice.

obo:
1) Having a mains charger, or USB connection plugged in will cause it to re-start after it is powered off.

2) Hold down menu as you're connecting the mains adapter.

capibara:
All right, holding down the menu seems to work fine, now I can use the mains adapter just like with the original Apple firmware. Thanx!!!!!

But my first problem remains unsolved: how do I shut the player down, without entering the Apple firmware?

capibara:
bump...

Is there anybody who can help me????

How do I shut the player down, without entering the Apple firmware? If I hold down "PLAY" the iPod will simply shutdown and then restart. Any ideas?

Yotto:
Nobody answered because nobody knows.

I personally don't know, but if it happened to my 5G I'd assume that the usb connector was broken and the player thought it was plugged in when it really wasn't.

Unless it IS plugged in, then what is happening to you is normal. Your player cannot be plugged in AND turned off at the same time.

Assuming it's similar to the 5G.  As I said, I don't know because I don't have a 2G.
