Well, these also sound like a predictable precursor to that response :P
They may not have come across how you wanted, judging by your subsequent posts, but posts that come across as whinging without any constructive content get quickly dismissed here...
At the very least, as a non-coder, you could ask the Feature Request author if s/he has had any response from the devs. You could then go onto IRC and perhaps try to generate some enthusiasm for the request, or work with them to modify the request in some way to make it more likely to get worked on. You could also offer a reward (link) to get your request fulfilled.
Without coding skills, your options are more limited, but not to point of just sniping from the sidelines.

sometimes i have the feeling developers just develop to improve the system (which is great of course) but fail to implement features which are strongly asked (like this e.g.)
anyway...i dont want to complain. im more than happy with rockbox. keep up great work, guys!

The answer is predictable because it is true! The developers work very hard on this project for nothing in their spare time. You haven't bought it, they make no guarantees, and as a result only code what they want to! Seriously, you can't say loads of us want this, please use your evenings and weekends doing it for no reward even though you don't want it. Very often developers will implement features they aren't bothered about from the goodness of their hearts, but ultimately each and every feature is down to someone who wants it knowing how to code or learning how to.

Glad to hear it! ;D Nor did I mean to jump on you but saying things like "this sux a lot :'( :'( :'(" without doing anything constructive annoys people!
Edit: Bascule beat me to it...
Llorean:
Simply put: Being able to code is entirely a matter of time invested. Anyone who can type can learn to do it if they're dedicated to it. It may be more difficult for some than others, but it is still an objective system, which means references can supplement skills as well. That being said, having a feature added to Rockbox is entirely a function of peoples' desire to see that feature.
If they want it enough, anyone CAN take the time to learn what is necessary to implement it. The problem is, most people don't want it enough, and use "I can't program" as a cause for not doing it, rather than "I don't want it enough to learn how to program, because it is worth enough for me to ask others to do it, but not enough for me to put in the time to learn to do it myself."
muesli:
well...to assume that everybody can learn coding if he only invest time and effort is ridiculous. it takes ages to become a reasonable developer...in my case i had to invest a minimum of 6months. and since i am working and have family you should understand thats kinda impossible...
Llorean:
I didn't state that it could be done within a reasonable time, simply that it could be done.
Which would you rather have, a feature you want never coded, or a feature you want coded a long time from now, but guaranteed to be done?
