How to jump to bookmark with ipod 5G/Video?

If I press play (as shown on the screen) nothing happens...
Any Idea?

It is correctly shown.  Play/pause is to exit the screen and select is to open that bookmark.

Seems to be a translation bug.

German translation:

PLAY = Auswählen (= select)
OFF = Beenden (= abort)
ON+Play = Löschen (= delete)

btw: how to press ON on ipod video? :-)

Seems linke the translation needs some work.

Up until very recently (Sometime this week I think) the screen said "Play" was to select the bookmark, even though it was actually "Select" to select it..  It had been like that for a while before whenever it was changed.

Upgrade to the very latest build and the screen will display correctly, or just use "Select" and remember "Play" is not correct.

Actually, no.  I didn't realize that you were talking about a different language.  I recently changed the english.lang file for have the correct keymappings for the ipods, x5, and h10.  However, I only changed english.lang to the correct mappings as it is the "template" for the rest.  If need be, I can change the rest, but there are a lot of lang files and things would be much easier if whoever changes those lang files for the other languages would change that to fit with the corrected english.lang.

Thinking about that, I should probably post to the dev mailing list for those other people...

I switched to English because the German translation isn´t as good as it should be. In English the menus are faster to understand.

I took a look how to pativipate in translation and must say that it is to complicated to install active perl first.

Actually, all that is required for this task is a text editor that will support UNIX line endings (like Notepad2 if you are on windows, which I am assuming).

Did I miss something? I understood I have to use a build enviorment or use active pearl to run the script thats generates the textfile with outdated strings...

Typically, yes.  However, all that is required is to make the same changes/additions that you see in this diff and this diff to whatever language file you wish to change.

You also need cvs and diff to be able to generate a patch file to submit to the tracker as well.
