1.31K supported?
« on: November 21, 2006, 01:59:11 PM »
Hi.

My simple question: What about the new Firmware Version 1.31K of IRiver for the H300? Is it supported by the fwpatcher of RB or will it be supported in the future? Not very nessesary because IRiver just added things RB supports for a long time like a little Minesweeper game and OTF Playlists... But nevertheless it would be nice...

AFAIK no-one's working on this and to repeat nls, what the future holds, no one knows.

Since I don't use original firmware, I'm not interested at all on this. Unfortunately for those interested, it seems that the main devs feel the same (so there are limited chances). You never know though...

You *should* just be able to do it the manual way, I believe (not using fwpatcher.exe but rather the other tools for it), though of course due to the slightly increased risk of bricking I wouldn't suggest it unless you really feel obsessed with the need to get those new retail firmware features.

Since Rockbox is intended as a replacement firmware, the fact that it runs alongside the original at all is more of a failsafe than a desire to use both.

I'd say the brick chances are rather high so I would firmly advise not to try this at home kids ;)
Maybe LinusN can try it when he finds some time but don't hope on it
