About a month ago, I was having a problem with bookmarking. From what I understood, it was because that I used the ID3 Viewer.

Well, about a week ago, my h320 makes bookmarks when I hit stop. I don't know why or what I did to get it to do this.

Thought I'd make a post about it if anyone wants to try figure out why its working.

Have you by any chance turned the bookmark on stop option to on?

I have had the bookmark on stop option on for as long as I've had Rockbox (Really, I think it may be one of the very first things I turned on) and occationally, for the past, say, month, it has failed to bookmark on stop.  Maybe once every 5 times or so that I stop.  It doesn't seem to get better or worse on upgrading builds (which I do roughly weekly) and doesn't seem to get better or worse if I clear my settings (I know you're always supposed to, but I was curious and didn't just to see what would happen).

I'd report it but it's so vague and has no pattern, and nobody else has reported anything even similar... Until this thread.  You seem to have the opposite problem.

I had the same problem as landus, but all I had to do was turn the option off and it was fixed. So I suggest he makes a .cfg file and load it when you update your builds.

I've also recently started having some problems with bookmarks, but mine seem to be another thing entirely. Sometimes when I bookmark in the middle of the file, then come back later and try to resume, the file starts to resume and then suddenly I'm pushed back into the file tree. Then if I hit play to go back to WPS, the file either just starts over, or even worse: the file resumes at the proper location but the counter starts at 0:00. As a result of this Rockbox gets really confused if I try to fast forward or rewind.

I haven't spent much time trying to reproduce the problem but I know it doesn't always happen, and has only begun happening recently.

I can confirm this problem. It seems to happen more with long audiobooks encoded low bitrates/frequencies, but this impression is probably skewed as I mainly use bookmarks on those.

The problem with reseting the time counter was confirmed by several people already and it is in the Flyspray as #6068. There is a higher probability of showing the bug on long files because the problem appears when you play past a certain time point (different between files).

In my case the bug appeared only on podcasts in 64 kbps mono MP3 (podcasts are approximately 80% of my listening). The shortest file I have observed the bug on is 31 minutes long.

This bug is still present on my iriver h300 player. I have posted on the flyspray about it.
