H1x0: Next in playlist/queue on REC button

(1/2) > >>

Hi everybody!

First of all, Rockbox rules!

One thing though would be great: In the file browser mode, I'd like to add a file to the playlist or queue with a single click. Since the REC button apparently doesn't do anything, is there a possibility to assign this function to this button?

Thanks
tempe

Take a look at this thread:

I'm in favor of adding this functionality to the RIGHT button (which currently duplicates the SELECT/NAVI button in the file browser) rather than the REC button.  Not all platforms have a RECORD button.

And what about platforms that don't have SELECT/NAVI button? (eg. Ondio)

I think that every player should be treat seperately on this matter, it is impossible to have a completely consistent button layout on so many different targets.

Having said that, I consider that it is indeed important to have a consistent button layout as much as we can, but the most important part of this IMO are the navigation buttons (Up/Down/Right/Left). So it's better to alter/enhance functionality on "extra" buttons (like RECORD) for such purposes rather than these buttons.

The quoted patch is mine. I plan to add this functionality the op requested, but I couldn't do it in 1 hour a few weeks ago and now it is waiting until I find the time to look at it again.

Thanks for your very prompt replies! I searched for 'queue' and therefore didn't get 'queuing' - sorry for that.

Anyway this all sounds very good and I'm curious. Just one noob question: Is there a manual how to install these patches? I browsed the manual as well as the website and didn't find one.

Thanks again,
tempe
