how long should it take to download a 1000 mp3s from my libray

i have had my archos studio for a while and i do like it.
have been using rockbox for about a year but i have no been adding mp3s
for awhile and when i'm adding them today it seems to take forever

That device only has USB 1.1.  This means that transfers are much slower than the current standard , USB 2.0.  This is nothing unexpected.

Actually, there is one.  Take apart your device (instructions are in the hardware section of "index" in the sidebar at the left) and take the hard drive out.  Get a 2.5 to 3.5 IDE adapter and connect the hard drive to your computer.

if you need to add a lot of songs (over 3000)  just do what i did when i got my very first player. i plugged in the player to a power source and plugged into the computer. dragged the whole music folder to my mp3 player and went to bed. when i awoke they were all on my player ready for me to listen to them

Yeah never realised how slow USB 1.1 could feel until I shifted 1G from my camera to my H340 using USBOTG. Took more than 10 minutes I believe -_-.
