IPod video 5g dedicated audio line out support

Hi,
I use my mp3 player mostly hooked up to my home or car systems.  How is Rockbox firmware dealing with the dedicated audio line out (accessible through the ipod's mini dock)?  Is it still used a truly audio line out?

As true as the line-out is in Apple's firmware.
