Hello, I installed RockBox on my iRiver H140 this past August. Everything was running fine until yesterday. Yesterday I was using it and I pressed pause on the iRiver. The song paused, and after a few seconds the screen went blank. None of teh buttons would funcion any longer. I left it alone for several minutes with no improvement. I hit the reset button on the bottom of the player and it booted in the original firmware, but it no longer recognized the 25 gigs of songs I have on there. I turned it off and then back on, but RockBox could not load. The bootloader would start and get to the battery line, but the hard drive would not respond. The hard drive would spin up, but it simply uselessly spins like it is still on pause. Windows no longer recognizes the player regardless of what mode it is booted in. In USB device mode it doesn't work, in the original firmware it doesn't work, and with RockBox it doesn't even start. Does anyone know how to salvage my iRiver? Thank you for your help.

JdGordon:
it sounds like your hard disk has died.. does the iriver firmware start and work?

Well, he did say, "it booted in the original firmware, but it no longer recognized the 25 gigs of songs I have on there."
It definitely sounds like a failed hard drive.
