piezo and 5.5 build

(1/1)

Hello rockboxers

I'm working on an Ipod 5.5 (30 gb) to make it work for my (80 year old) aunt. She became blind suddenly as a result of a brain haemorrhage. For some stupid reason nobody realized that because of her placement in a carehome she didn't have acces to music Thanks go offcourse to the pioneers of the 5.5 port and this brilliant community as a whole that it is possible to offer an old lady some control. Now I need some help to help her: I've got rockbox up and running. I did this by using a 'walkthrough' by bro2baseball (post 145 on the discussion thread of 5.5 port http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=6475.msg56843#msg56843 ). He delivered the files also, even a patched build of rockbox with the piezo patch installed. This is supposed to make the click wheel on the Ipod, actually click in Rockbox.

Now, this patch doesn't seem to work or I am missing something obvious. Offcourse I looked in the tracker part of the site but it doesn't say anything on how to make it work except switching it on in lcd settings. There is no swithc to be found.
So i decided to patch it myself, and was at this for 3 days with cywin and vmware. I tried, i really tried but i'm to much of a noob. Yes I looked at all your manuals and followed them. Couldn't make it work and i gave up. Would someone please, if you find the time, patch me a rockbox 5.5 build with piezo patch?

Thank you

Cray

Here is a build with the 5.5G patch and the piezo patch. It does some beeping on scroll on my 5.5G, but I wouldn't say it is really useful as is. The beeps are not very distinct if you scroll too fast.

Frause!

Wow, thanks...it worked!!! :)
I can't thank you enough! And great quality beeps, at least, good enough someone who can't see. An old lady is going to enjoy her music because of your help!
