IRiver USB Cahrging not Working
(1/1)
bartman:
Just installed Rockbox. Wow, this is way better than the Iriver firmware. However I now have a problem with charging. I travel a lot, and with a lot of gadgets. I use theUSB port on my laptop to charge all of these. Well, now instead of charging, my I-Rivet H340 goes into USB connection mode. Is ther any way to fix this ?
Also I have tried booting theoriginal I-river firmware to try and charge from USB but one of two thinsg happen :-
1)If I press REC, the Iriver partially boots then shuts off.
2) If I press REC and Play, theI-river boots into Rockbox anyway
I just installed rockbox today - Iriver 1.30 EU firware and today's bulid of rockbox
Can any one help ?
Thanks

Pressing and holding Rec while starting up should boot into the OF. It sounds like the battery is too flat to run the iriver firmware. Rockbox tends to run to a lower battery state, as it has no graceful low battery shutdown...

My 5cents:
Previously when I boot rockbox then press REC button while connecting USB cable it was possible to charge the battery (the battery indicator was blinking and power indicator was ON) while listening to the music. Now I noticed that when I do the same thing it just shows Power Connection indicator but battery level doesn't "blink" and after some time battery dies i.e. it doesn't charge or uses USB power at all to run the player. After it it tries to load rockbox again, fails and then loads native iRiver firmware not in "battery charge" mode but rather some strange mode when the screen switches to kind of "wierd bright mode" and stalls... That's it.
Does anyone encounter the same problem?
Could it be fixed somehow?.. please bring back old nice USB mode behariour.
Thanks!

BTW, Could it be a battery replacement problem? I've replaced battery 1300->2200mah some time ago (3 weeks or so)... but it runs pretty good. have no problem with charging.
