Can Rockbox allow ipod photo to play video?

I realize that Rockbox is still just starting to get video to work, but I am wondering if putting it on an ipod photo with the plug in to play video (minus sound for now) will work?

I am just thinking of buying one and wanting to see if I should spend the extra on a new one or buy a used ipod photo. I can wait for the development if it will work.

If you want to play videos, buy an Ipod video!
Video is supported by Rockbox (= compressed video without sound) and Ipodlinux (Compressed video + uncompressed sound)

  I saw in another thread that you have to re-boot back to the Apple OS for video playback.  Maybe THAT thread was wrong?

You have to reboot to AppleOS (on an iPod Video) to view MPEG-4/H.264-encoded videos (like things from the iTunes store or ones you've encoded yourself.) Rockbox supports MPEG-1 and -2 streams.
